  Java Articles:

Java is a program that allows you to access many online applications, such as games and other web based content. Java is updated frequently, and there are several steps to take to ensure a smooth transition into the newest version. It is recommended that you take the following steps:
  1. Verify Java Version
  2. Install Current Version
  3. Uninstall Old Versions
Although most computers will automatically prompt you to update Java when a newer version is available, sometimes an update creates compatibility issues with some sites we use heavily on campus. If you install a Java update and then discover something isn't working, you must uninstall the newest version and install a previous version of Java. See the article: Install Earlier Versions
