Hyperlinks - Word
Creating a hyperlink in a Word document will link to a website, different file, or place within the same document. This process also works in Word 2013 & 2010.

Hyperlink to Website

Step 1:
Go to the internet site and copy the URL to be inserted as a hyperlink.
You can do this by clicking the image in front of the URL and pressing [Ctrl] + [C].

Step 2:
In the Word document, highlight the word(s) you want to hyperlink.

Step 3:
Right mouse click on the highlighted word(s) and choose Hyperlink...
Step 4:In the Insert Hyperlink box, click in the Address box. Press [Control] + [V] to paste the URL address in the box. Click OK.
Now you have a hyperlink to the web page, and you can open it by pressing [Ctrl] and clicking on the link.




Hyperlink to a Different File

Step 1:In the Word document, highlight the word(s) you want to hyperlink.
Step 2:Right click on the highlighted word(s) and choose Hyperlink...

Step 3:Under Link to, choose Existing File or Web Page. You can use the dropdown list next to Look in to navigate to the file you wish to link to. Click on the name of the file, then click OK.

Step 4:
Press the [Ctrl] key and click on the link to open the hyperlinked file.



Hyperlink to a Place in the Same Document

Step 1:Highlight the word(s) that you want the link to jump to.

Step 2:
Click the Insert tab and choose Bookmark.

Step 3:
Type the name of the bookmark (no spaces), and click Add.

Step 4:
Highlight the word(s) that will contain the hyperlink.
Step 5:Right click on the highlighted word(s) and choose Hyperlink...
Step 6:Under Link to, choose Place in This Document. Under the Bookmarks list, choose the name of the Bookmark you wish to link to. Click OK

Step 7:
Press the [Ctrl] key and click on the link to navigate to the bookmarked place in the same document.
