Sign Out of Microsoft Office Account - Office Applications

Office  allows a user to sign in using a Microsoft account that links all of your Office work to an account. This article shows Office 2016, but the process also works in Office 2013.

Signing out of your Microsoft account is very important, especially on shared computers such as those around campus. Logging into a Microsoft account allows a user to access personal settings and themes, but remember to log out before you log off the computer.


Step 1:Open any Office program. These instructions use Word. Click File.

Step 2:Go to Account. User information will be listed here when signed in. Select Sign out.
