Remove Hidden Data - Word
Avoid unintentionally distributing hidden information, such as the document author and names that are associated with comments or tracked changes, by removing hidden data. All the revisions that were made to a document while the Track Changes feature was turned on remain part of a Word document until they are accepted or rejected.  All comments that were inserted remain in the document until deleted. The Document Inspector is a handy way to do this. This process also works in Word 2013.

Show all changes and comments

Step 1:
Click the Review tab on the ribbon, and click All Markup on the Tracking group.

Use the Document Inspector to remove hidden data
Step 1: Under the File tab, click the Info tab. Then click Check for Issues.

Step 2: Click Inspect Document.

Step 3:Click Yes to save changes to your document.

Step 4: The Word Document Inspector window appears. Click Inspect.

Step 5: Click Remove All to remove the item of your choice, for example document properties and author.

Step 6: Document properties and author are removed. Click Close.

Step 7: After you have completed these steps, save the document, and it will no longer contain the items you have removed.
