Recording - Screencast-O-Matic
Recording with Screencast-O-Matic is a quick and easy to create short tutorial videos. These videos can be especially useful in showing students exactly how you would like a document formatted or where you wanted it saved, such as a class folder.

Recording

Step 1:Go to www.screencast-o-matic.com and login.

For help with registering your account or logging in, visit the Logging In article.

Step 2:Click Start Recording.

Step 3:The screen recorder will start up.

If more than one minute passes by, you may need to give permissions. Jump to the Permissions section for help.

Step 4:A popup will appear asking if you would like to run the application. Select Run.

Step 5:A ready screen will appear and the screen recorder will start up.

Step 6:Adjust the recording frame as needed and click the red record button to begin.

Step 7:While recording, you can pause by selecting the blue pause button or finish by selecting the Done button.

You have now recorded your screencast-o-matic video.
Recording with Download

If you plan on using screencast-o-matic frequently, it is easily downloaded for quick access from your computer without needing to visit the website each time.Step 1:Go to www.screencast-o-matic.com and login.

For help with registering your account or logging in, visit the Logging In article.

Step 2:Click Start Recording.

Step 3:The screen recorder will start up. Click Download + Install.

Step 4:A new screen will appear. Click the Download Now button.

Step 5:You will be redirected to a new page. Click the Download Now button.

Step 6:A pop up will appear. Select Save File. Your download will begin.

Note: It may take several minutes to download.

Step 7:Open your downloads folder.

Step 8:Double click on the Screencast-o-matic file.

Step 9:A pop up will appear asking if you want to run the file. Click Run.

Step 10:The setup wizard will appear. Select Install and follow the instructions.

Step 11:Once the setup wizard has finished installing, click Finish.

Note: A pop up will appear giving you the option to enable pro features. This is a paid option and you can continue to use the free version by clicking Use FREE version.


Step 12:You have now installed the screencast-o-matic screen recorder program. You can find it in your programs.

Step 13:Follow step 6 and 7 of the Recording section above to record your video.
Permissions


In order for the screen recorder to start up, you may need to give permissions. If this bar appears at the top of your screen, you will need to give permissions.

Step 1:Click Allow.

Step 2:A second pop up will appear asking you to adjust your settings.

Step 3:Set fields to Allow and Remember, then click OK.

You've now configured your permissions.
