Read Mode - Word
Read Mode changes the environment of your document to read like a magazine. You cannot edit a document in Read Mode. This process also works in Word 2013.

Step 1: Open your document in Word. Click the View tab. Select Read Mode from the Views group. 

Step 2:
The document will appear in two columns.

 Step 3:
Use the arrows on the left and right sides of the screen to navigate through the document. 

Step 4:
Change the size of the text by using the zoom slider in the bottom right corner. 

Step 5:
Adjust the column width by clicking the View tab. Select Column Width and choose one of the options.

Step 6:
To change the color of the page, click the View tab and select Page Color. Choose one of the options. 

 Step 7:
Change the layout of your paper from columns to original view. Click the View tab and select Layout. Choose column or paper layout.

Step 8:
Display the Navigation page, which lists the pages and headings of your paper, and also allows you to search the document. Click the View tab and select Navigation pane. 

Step 9:
Use the resume reading feature to jump to your last location in the document. Click on the flag that appears at the bottom of the screen to navigate to that page.

Step 10:
To find word definitions and translations, highlight the word in the document and then right click on it. You will have the option to define and translate the word right in the document. 

 Step 11:
Show comments by clicking the View tab and selecting Show Comments. They will appear in a pane on the right.
You can also show comments by clicking on the comment bubble next to the text. 

 Step 12:
To make a new comment, highlight the text to which you want to add a comment. Right click on the highlighted area and select New Comment.
Type your comment in the Comments bubble. 

Step 13:
To search within the document, click the Tools tab and select Find.

 Step 14:

Click the View tab and select Edit Document to exit read mode.
