Staff Software Self-Installation
Etown faculty and staff with Windows computers can install some software onto their college-owned computer without ITS support.
The following software packages are available for installation on college-owned Windows computers:
  • 7-Zip
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Adobe Digital Editions
  • Audacity
  • Chrome
  • Cisco Jabber
  • Firefox
  • iTunes
  • R
  • RStudio
  • SPSS 28
  • VLC
  • Zoom

The Chrome browser is recommended for software installation.

Step 1:Go to Sign in with your E-town credentials (user name does not include Enter EC Clients in the Organization box.

Step 2:Click the Want software? button.

Step 3:From the list, select the software package that you would like to install.

Step 4:You will see details about the installation. Confirm the Device to install software on. Depending on the type of installation, you will be prompted to choose to Install or Run Now. Choose either option at the the bottom of the display. 

If no device or an incorrect one appears in the Device to install software on area, contact the Help Desk for assistance. 

Step 5:Most programs download and install in the background. You can check on the status of the program by clicking Download History. It will read Install Requested while the program is installed, then Success after completion.

Refresh the browser page to view the status updates.

Step 6:The installations using the "Run Now" option in step 4 will display a pop-up at the bottom right corner of your screen when the installation begins and when it completes. The installation will complete whether you click the OK in the notification pop-up or not.
