Desktop Alias - Mac OS X
Instead of navigating through several layers to get to a folder, you can create an alias (PC term: shortcut) on your desktop for easy access. For Mac OS 8.0 and higher.
Step 1:Click and hold on the folder to which you want to create an alias.Step 2:
Press [Command] + [Option], and drag the folder to your desktop. Release your click. This does not move the original item, it will only create the alias at the new location.
