Default Paragraph Change - Word
Newly installed Word 2016 has a default paragraph format which adds extra space after each paragraph and extra line spacing between the lines of the paragraph. If you prefer, you may change these settings so when you press Enter, you'll get no extra space after paragraphs and single line spacing within the paragraph. This process also works in Word 2013 & 2010.

Note: Macs can’t use this method to change the default paragraph setting.

Step 1:
In a Word document, click the Home tab.
Step 2:
Click the Paragraph dialog box launcher.

Step 3: Change the settings to match the example.
Click Set As Default…

Step 5: Check All Documents based on Normal.dotm template. Click OK
