Amazon Echo
Below are instructions for connecting an Amazon Echo device on campus.
Because of the nature of our Wi-Fi system, some Amazon Echo functions will not be available on campus.

Connect to Wi-Fi - iOS
Step 1:Download the Alexa app.

Step 2:Login with your Amazon account.

Step 3:Plug in the Alexa device to power. The light ring will turn blue, then switch to rotating orange.
Step 4:After the light ring becomes orange, return to the app. If you have setup your Alexa on another network before, select Settings on the left navigation panel. If you have not setup your Alexa before, click Begin Setup.

Step 5:Tap on the name of your device.

Step 6:
Tap Continue.

Step 7:Select your preferred language, and then tap Continue.

Step 8:
Next, tap Connect to Wi-Fi.
Step 9:
Press and hold the Action button for five seconds, or until the light becomes orange. Then click Continue.

Step 10:Go to your device's wifi settings, and select the network with the name Amazon-XXX. Wait for your device to connect.

Step 11:Return to the Alexa app, and tap Continue.

Step 12:Select how you would like to use your Echo.

Step 13:Your Amazon Echo is now connected and ready to use!

Connect to Wi-Fi - Android
Step 1:Download the Alexa app.

Step 2:Login with your Amazon account.

Step 3:Plug in the Alexa device to power. The light ring will turn blue, then switch to rotating orange.
Step 4:After
the light ring becomes orange, return to the app. If you have setup
your Alexa on another network before, select Settings on the left
navigation panel. If you have not setup your Alexa before, click Begin Setup.

Step 5:Tap on the name of your device.

Step 6:
Tap Continue.

Step 7:Select your preferred language, and then tap Continue.

Step 8:
Next, tap Connect to Wi-Fi.

Step 9:
Tap the EC_GUEST_WIFI network.

Step 10:Tap Connect.

Step 11:Return to the Alexa app, and tap Continue.

Step 12:Select how you would like to use your Echo.

Step 13:Your Amazon Echo is now connected and ready to use!

Connection Error
Sometimes, the Echo will give an error message that says it cannot connect to the wifi. In this case, email the ITS Help Desk at helpdesk@etown.edu. Be sure to include your username and the device's MAC address. ITS will connect your Echo for you.
