Freezing Panes - Excel
Working with long or wide Excel spreadsheets can cause problems when having to remember the title for each row or column. Using the Lock or Freeze Panes option, you can avoid having to scroll back to determine what each column or row means. This process also works in Excel 2007-2013.

Freezing the Top Row
Step 1:Click the View tab at the top of the ribbon. Click on Freeze Panes and select Freeze Top Row.

Freezing the First Column
Step 1:Click the View tab at the top of the ribbon. Click on Freeze Panes and select Freeze First Column.

Freezing Both
Step 1:Select cell B2.
Step 2:Click the View tab at the top of the ribbon. Click on Freeze Panes and select Freeze Panes.

Unfreezing Panes
Step 1:Click the View tab at the top of the ribbon. Click on Freeze Panes and select Unfreeze Panes.
